Hello
I’m in the early stages of the process of deciding to live aboard, specifically Nice, France with my lovely girlfriend.
I have some very high level questions that for some may seem odd to ask but I would really like to hear some perspectives and experiences with your decision to live aboard. In hopes to relieve my anxiety of the unknown. :-)
I hope someone can help and answer.
I'm looking for sponsorship with my current employer in the USA. If I cannot obtain sponsorship with my current employer, what should be my expectations of finding employment before actually moving to France? Do companies generally respond to employment seekers with an address in USA? Any steps to suggest?
How common is it to find employment where english is someones primary language to speak and French is currently a distant secondary?
How are expats received or treated within a company compared to other native employees of the company?
Has anyone moved back their mother country and looked for employment? How do prospective employers perceive (positive or negative) your employment experience in France compared to employment experience within your mother country?
Appreciate any help and experiences!
