My wife and I ( 50/55) are planning to move to France in 2016/7 all depending on when we find our 'ideal' property. The plan is to run 1 to 3 small gites to give us something to do during the summer months ( semi retirement I guess you would call it) I will be taking my works pension to hopefully give us some means of surviving. I have a ton of questions on tax and pensions and taking on a business and hope to trawl the forums to find answers but could you folks provide some idea of what it would cost to live in France compared to the UK ( Energy costs, taxes, healthcare etc) We are looking South West - Charente or possibly Dordogne as a target area and have visited and will be out there again this coming June. Being still in the early phases of looking at this relocation information overload is one thing that springs to mind....so much to take in. So for a 'typical' 3 bed main house with say 2 separate 2 bedroom gites with a pool ( of course) what would I expect to pay out each month. I realise this can't be pin point accurate but just to give us some idea on cost of living....We don't want to live the high life and plan to run a utility vehicle and a small run around car. Looking forward to the replies.............Thanks Wayne
