Drink Driving in France Causes Jail ?

Dear all,

Good day. I just had a terrible day ended in police station yesterday here in Brest. I am a Turkish engineer working for a Dutch company here for one year contract and actually next month I am turning back due to end of contractç

So yesterday evening I drank much in a restaurant close to my house and then have been caught immediately by police as soon as I moved my car to turn back home. They asked me and I said 2 beers only (was more of course) I drank and so then they took me to station and upon the test It was something 1,8 bac. So then they said that I am going to spend the night in the cell at police stattion.

Then morning late morning let's say, my colleagues came and took me out without paying any fine or bail. BTW they gave me a hand-written paper stating the adres of police station including a certain date and time. It says "commissariat de brest brigade accidents "

Now the question is what kind of an appoinment could it be ? It will be something a court or what ? I started to be afraid about jail which is mentioned clearly in French laws after 0,8 bac up to 2 years.

Any one has experience/knowledge with subject before ?
