Please help. Mum wants to move to France!

Hello,

My 62 year old mum has decided she wants to move to France on her own. It has been a lifelong dream and she speaks very fluent French so we think she will be ok!

I wonder if anyone could recommend a village or town that is relatively cheap to rent property in, not too far from Spanish border and also pretty?
