Which Health Insurance Provider did you Use Until Your Carte Vitale Came Through?

I will be moving to France in July, and understand that I need to get coverage through a private health insurance company until my Carte Vitale comes through.

My questions are

a) Which insurer did you find to be the most affordable? My pleasehelp.fr consultant quoted me (I guess through the insurance provider they suggest) 750 euros per MONTH!!!

b) For how long did you take the policy? (is 3 months only allowable?)

c) What is the minimum allowable amount of coverage you need? My pleasehelp.fr guy recommended no less than 250,000 Euros. Seems high!
