Retiring in Bordeaux

Hello, I am an American with Irish citizenship. I am thinking, in the long term, of retiring in Bordeaux. At this point I would just like to make connections with others like me who have already retired in France. What I like about Bordeaux is that it is bike-friendly, nice climate, Not far from the ocean, and accessible to Paris by TGV.
