This is a long shot I know but I will ask my question and be very happy if somebody has any ideas on the subject.
Many years ago I worked as an expatriate in France and made sufficient contributions to the Secu to receive a French pension now I am retired (But retired outside France). This French pension from the CNAV has been paid regularly and now constitutes an important portion of my overall pension income. My concern at the moment is whether or not my wife will be able to depend upon a Pension de Reversion if I die and she survives me?
Normally I would have no fears in this context as the issue is well covered in the CNAV website, but updated information seems few and far between on whether, or not, this situation could change as a result of the imminent French Tax Reform?
Of course, I understand none of the forum members will have privileged input regarding the outcome of the Tax Reform, but I would like to know if anyone has seen any discussion on this matter, or can redirect me to any organization/forum that might have views.
This is an important issue for me as my wife is younger than me and has a statistical probability of surviving me by (hopefully) many years. Accordingly, my wife will be largely depend upon this “Widow’s Pension” and I fear this French Tax Reform may be tempted to abolish this entitlement.
