I am referencing the book "Immobilier: Reussir son 1er Achat et Faire des Economies" (Thomas Person, May 2017). On page 21, under "Comment faire baisser les frais de notaire" he writes "...les frais d'agence peuvent etre deduits des frais de notaire, a condition que ce soit vous qui les payez separement"

Did the law change in 2018? This site seems to indicate so:
