Climate Change

My husband and I are considering moving to France in the next year or two, or at least checking it out. The forest fires have me very concerned and it seems that most of the places we are interested in for year-round nice climate (ie. not much rain, no snow, no down coats!) are experiencing years - long drought. Can anyone give me more information or thoughts about this? There isn't a lot of information I can find on line.
