Dordogne Summers?

We've just moved to France, living out of hotels and AirBNB's while we seek our permanent home. We've heard there are lots of expats in the Dordogne. Also heard the summers are extremely hot. Who can tell us just how hot it's been this summer? We've only researched Domme and Eymet so far. Appreciate your feedback.
