Car insurance and meeting people in Heidelberg

Hello, I moved to Heidelberg in September, bringing my English car with me, however it is only insured for being abroad with my UK policy until mid-december. Does anyone know roughly what the total cost of re-registration/TUV/new insurance would be for a 23y/o guy driving a 12y/o Peugeot 405 diesel? I don't have any no-claims either. Some sources suggest that insurance is cheaper here, others say the opposite. I need to know whether it'll break the bank or not! Cheers, Chris.
