I love Cannes and Nice but am sensitive to air pollution and am accustomed to clean air. Am considering other places but again there is so much to do in Cannes and Nice!

Got my debit cards both stolen 3 days after I arrived in Cannes, then twice taken by ‘Hosts,’ one on Airbnb, and 3 days ago left hysterical and weeping by a Host that required an extra $500.00 to get the code for the apartment I paid Booking.com for! My brother’s bank refused it so rather than trusting me, he abandoned me at midnight at the train station!
They told me after three terrible days they would refund my brother’s credit card. I cannot tell you how difficult it was to get these two refunded! It’s AI unfortunately.
I had pushed my two very heavy suitcases several blocks to a hotel who let me in, and listened to my story until my brother in the US returned and lifted the fraud. I checked into the hotel at 3:00 am.
I had spoken of course for hours to Booking.com and I thought my brother’s money would be refunded but the Host of the Booking property refused to waive the cancellation fee so out of $510.00, $76.00 was refunded.
That was until today and hours and hours of messages. I was hung up on three or four times when a lady heard everything and said all the money would be refunded within about 8 days!
So glad to share, but do need some encouragement right now to go on after all of this !
