Hi folks
First of all, your many responses and comments to peoples' questions have been incredibly helpful, and have only caused me to further contemplate a move in the next couple of years. I'm Canadian, in my early 50's with some money invested and an approaching pension. I've travelled extensively through Central America and have "almost" decided to retire in Guatemala. This may be a ridiculous question, but do you think a guaranteed income of $1500.00 (US) is sufficient for one person, renting a small apartment, and not needing any lavish lifestyle? Working on writing a second book is a priority for me, and I find that any time I've spent in the country has been so productive. Thanks for any thoughts. I'm also curious about the active expat community...is it something solid?
