Question about Internet in Guatemala ???

My family and I will be visiting Guatemala in July and August. I work via the Internet 8 hours a day making a lot of VOIP calls and remote connections to clients in the US. How dependable and fast is the Internet in Guatemala, specifically around Lake Atitlan and on the coast Port of San Jose areas. I was told that during rainy season power and Internet seem to drop every time it rains for several hours a day. Is this correct? I'd like to get some options from people living in these areas. Thanks for any information.
