Product Development, Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Santa Cruz la Laguna, Sololá, Guatemala

Amigos de Santa Cruz has been working in the six remote communities of Santa Cruz la Laguna on or above the shores of Lake Atitlan in the Central Highlands of Guatemala for the past 15 years. Our mission
is to help improve the lives of the people of our communities through support for education, better health, a cleaner environment, and economic development. AMIGOS focuses on this one small corner of the world
to help break the generational cycle of poverty. We are a small organization that has a history of accomplishments, and an excellent relationship of respect and trust among the communities we work with.
Our four program areas include: Vocational Training and Economic Development, Nutrition and Health, Youth Leadership and Sex Education, and support for Formal Education (scholarships and early education
initiatives.) We serve a total indigenous population of approx. 6,000.

AMIGOS is currently seeking a Product Development, Marketing, and Communications Coordinator to work in our growing Social Enterprise as part of a team together with our Store Manager and Production
Coordinator in our Artisan Program with indigenous women artisans. The position reports directly to the Director of our vocational training center (CECAP) but will also work closely with AMIGOS Program Director. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to our mission and have a passion for helping others to help themselves. He or she will assure efficient and effective operations and high quality product development. The position offers opportunity for professional growth, travel and great personal satisfaction.

Job responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Developing and sourcing new product designs
• Managing and soliciting wholesale orders
• Developing new wholesale clients
• Overseeing product development in our retail store
• Developing marketing materials and products for local events
• Developing an online catalog
• Managing social media, group visits, and on-site tours
• Work in our retail store as needed

Job requirements:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with Artisan Products and Designs
• University studies in Design, Marketing, and/or Communications
• Ability to communicate well both written and verbally
• Self-motivated
• Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team effort
• Experience working with a multi-cultural staff
• Desire to contribute to the overall economic development of an impoverished community
• Excellent human relations and a positive attitude
• Must be bilingual in Spanish and English
• Previous experience living or working in Guatemala or a developing country preferable

Salary commensurate with experience but is relative to Guatemalan salary standards. Position available immediately, but will be filled when we find the right person for the job.
