BORDER CROSSING SCAM

Don’t Let This Happen To You!

We recently hand one of our clients, that we provided prepaid FMM Tourist Visa’s with Government receipts for Mexico, become scammed by one of the employees at the visa activation office, Mexicali border crossing.

What happened is this;

• We provided everything legally needed to produce to the office of activation for when he crossed the border.
• When our client produced the legal paperwork to the activation officer, the activation officer saw a way to make a few bucks off a senior citizen and told our client the receipt we provided him was not valid.

• We know what the activation officer stated was not true because the paperwork shows the pesos being paid directly to the Mexican Government and deposited into their account.

• The FMM activation employee said he needed to collect $50 dollars from our client to validate the Visa’s.
• If this were actually true, the client should have been sent back to the bank portion of the process and made to purchase another receipt that would have been validated.
• Instead the activation person collected $50 cash from our client and validated the FMM Visa form’s WE issued to our client. The activation person did not even issue new FMM Visa forms!

Unlike the travel clubs, we refunded our client! Since this has happened to one of our client's, we can provide this warning to you.

I recently communicated with the authorities in charge of this department, and they informed me that when we paid for the Visa on-line, and deposited that money into their account, each Visa became a valid paid Visa that only needs to be validated.

Mr. Lic. Alejandro Ramos Davila, Subdirector De Regulacion Migratoria, said if we had insisted the forms were valid and wanted the employee’s name and his supervisors’ name, they would have probably dropped the issue. He also said if we had provided the names of the employees involved he would take corrective action.

Please let us know if you have any problems like this. We are always here to help!
