Can a felon get permanent residency?

I am a 72 year old man (American citizen) who is interested in moving permanently to Honduras.

I was convicted of rape in 2011 and served 5 years in prison.

Is it possible for me to have Honduran residency?

I have sufficient income to live modestly.

Please advise.
