Thinking a bout moving to Kerala, and special considerations

I'm seriously considering relocating to Kerala. I have a young adult son with Downs who would come with me, and am wondering, with the caste system, if he would be an "outcast", or how it might be for him. I haven't been to India for 35+ years, and know a lot has changed! I'd love to hear your thoughts...any and all!
