write this letter on behalf of British World War 11 veterans. A group of these gentleman wish to return to Jakarta/Ambon. The visit is scheduled from 26/3/12 for 9 days.
Many live on very small pensions, and most are widowers with very little in life to look forward to.
If possible I would be grateful if any ex-pats/ local people would be prepared to give up some of their time either in the capacity, of local guide, connections with mini bus companys, or any useful connection to help keep the cost down for them. Although an emotional time, I know it would make them feel valued, as well as not forgotten.
As many are in their late 80’s/early 90’s and due to age and frailty, this will probably be their last visit and it would be nice to make the occasion memorable.
Regards
John
