Programmer looking to come to Ireland

Hi, I'm 24 years old from Pennsylvania in the US. I am a Software Developer with other skills in Networking, E-Commerce, Web Sites, and basically anything else with computers.

I have been looking at moving to Ireland and would love to do this. I have been there one time and absolutely loved it. I have travelled to 7 countries and Ireland has to be the best. I also studied in England for 6 weeks, so staying abroad is not a factor, i adapt very well.

The problem is, i have no idea where to even begin. I don't care in Ireland where I am, I love it all. I also know some German, I took 3 years but it has been a while. I don't know if i should go through a recruitment company, try to directly apply to companies, or just come over and physically go to the companies. Also, i've been trying to learn Irish(Gaelic), would this be helpful in getting a job.

Could someone please help with directing me to some sources for starting out? What should i look into? Do you know of any companies that like to hire Americans?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

David
