Moving to Limerick from North Carolina, USA.

My wife and I are considering a relocation to Limerick. We just received the news from my employer on Friday so were quickly trying to gather as much information as possible. I expect this trip to last approximately 2 years.
My wife and I currently both work but she would likely not work if we make this move. We have three kids, one of which is a newborn.
We traveled to IR (SouthWest) about 5 years ago for a bike trip and really enjoyed our time and the people we met. We never really considered moving to Ireland but the offer from my company has us really thinking about trying something overseas.
Ive seen some great commentary on this site so I thought Id try as well. Actually Im almost embarrassed by the number of questions Ive included but if anyone is willing to comment, Id be very appreciative.
1) What is life like in Limerick for a family with three kids under 5?
2) What are my options for child care? We really want to take the two older children on some trips and experience Ireland. Based on past experience, it is often better to leave the newborn at home when attempting such trips (i.e. twice a day naps could really impact a castle tour).
3) How expensive is child care?
4) I think we will need a car that can tote 3 kids around. Based on what I could find on the internet, I didnt see much about leasing. Is that an option? What should I expect to pay for a car lease? [My wife is not too keen on taking a public bus with 2 kids and a newborn, to get groceries].
5) Im confused about taxes. I keep reading that I have to pay US and IR taxes. If this is the case, am I really paying double taxes? Seems like this would make the relocation cost prohibitive?
6) We would really want to immerse ourselves in the local culture as we think this is the best way to maximize the experience. Will the local population welcoming to expats?
7) My oldest daughter will be going to kindergarden. Any tips?
8) My kids love going to parks, interactive kids museums, swimming on the local swim team, playing tennis&.essentially staying active. Will we find that in Limerick?
9) Is Limerick a sleepy town or is there a noticeable energy level? My boss initially proposed London and we were extremely geared up for that but the plan has changed.
Thank you again for anyone willing to help answer some of these questions. I need to give my boss an answer quickly and really feel like Ive got incomplete information at this point.
