Looking to move to Ireland, and stumped...

I've been trying to figure out how to go about moving to Ireland for a short period of time, a year or less. I'm an experience software engineer, and I don't think I'll have any trouble finding a job; however, it's not reasonable for me to move to Ireland and THEN look for a job, which seems to be how everyone does it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get connected to a company and get a contract job, guaranteed? I've tried the job board (computerjobs.ie, monster,etc), and gotten very little cooperation.
