Moving to Ireland 2011

We are looking to retire to Ireland and hope to move sometime in 2011. We will be watching all of your posts (and have been watching) with great interest. The information we have gleaned so far has been very helpful.

Husband has duel citizenship (Irish/USA), wife is US citizen. We have been there 3 times for vacations and have traveled on our own each time, but a permanent move is a very different story.

We are looking for info regarding healthcare, taxes, moving our pets (1 dog & 1 cat), purchasing & insuring a car, banking, etc. We are looking to rent a furnished place. What comes with furnishings? Linens, towels, silverware, appliances, blankets? What should we look for in the rental agreement? How does the wife obtain a visa (or whatever documentation is needed), driver's license, etc.

Thank you all.
