Australian citizen (no dual) getting right to stay in ireland

Hello!

Myself and my family are currently in Ireland and would like to stay for around 6 months. We need to get a PPS number as the kids will be in school.

I am a business owner and so have passive income and sufficient funds to cover our expenses while we are here. We do not need to find work in Ireland.

We are all Australian citizens and have no dual citizenship.

Can anyone tell me if this will be a problem or how to proceed? I've sent a couple of emails away to govt departments but not had a response unfortunately.

Thank you!!
