Hello, I'm a dual Italian/Australian citizen currently residing in Italy. My husband and father (both Australian citizens) and myself are looking to relocate to Ireland. We already did a research visit to Ireland a few weeks ago which included a visit to the immigration office in Dublin. We received advice that as an EU national, I can bring my husband and father into Ireland and they can both apply for a residence card (EU1) form which takes about 12 weeks to process and being Australian citizens there wouldn't be a problem with their applications being accepted. My father is a self funded retiree and my husband and I would be looking for work.
My question is how difficult is it for us and non Irish nationals to find a job. We're not looking for high end career type work, just a job that gives us a pay packet and a foot in the door to setting ourselves up in Ireland.
My other question is what's the best way to find a place to rent? Ideally we'd like to find a place before we get there as we have a young child and moving around a lot is not ideal but looking at daft.ie most agents want previous tendency experience and current employment record which is a bit hard for us as we moved from Australia to Italy in October 2015, but our plans here for a business venture fell through and our ideal place has always been Ireland. We owned our own home in Australia and have enough finances to pay 6 months worth of rent in advance. We also have our own car in Italy which we are taking so us to Ireland.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
