For those promoting the Petition to assist people wishing to retire to Ireland - for the first time an Irish businessman,based in Chicargo has been appointed to the Irish Senate & made his maiden speech to the Upper House in Dublin today.(Google for details).
I strongly recommend that those promoting the Petition ,to make early contact with this man,who obviously is well connected politically to the ruling party in Ireland - he could be a very powerful ally to the cause of helping those wising to retire/relocate to Ireland. If this man comes on board with the Petition ,his input towards reforming the legislation,could be invaluable !!
