Moving to Dublin -- what banks have you been satisfied with?

Hi everyone,

New to this forum. My husband and I are moving to Dublin next month for his job and we're very excited!

I've been researching banks and wanted to ask which institutions you've been happy with. Which have the lowest fees? Which ones charge up the nose for every little transaction?

We don't intend on using our Irish bank account much while there. Since my husband will still be getting paid in USD, his paycheck will get deposited to our US bank account, and we'll then have to transfer funds from that account to our Irish checking account to pay rent, utilities, etc. Other than that, for everyday purchases, we planned on using our credit cards that don't have foreign transaction fees. Therefore, we're hoping to find a bank that doesn't charge too much for foreign currency transfers, and doesn't expect us to keep a minimum balance...
