Love to Ireland and keeping us job

I have a computer job that the owner of the company will let me move, as all I need is the internet. How does that work? Do I need a work visa even if it isn't a local job? My closest ancestor is 5 generations back. Salary is over 6 digits us dollars. I'm not sure where to start. In 8 months we are flying out to look for nice place to live. Help!
