Banking in Ireland

Hi All;

Just registered and read many of these posts on banking, it is great to have such information available. We are moving In December from Dubai to Dublin, we have been expats for over 20 years and have no ties left in America financially. but I do still carry an American passport. Will it be possible for me to open a bank account easily enough if I don't have any affiliation to an American Bank? I ask as I see many of you have transfers going back-n-forth with America and I will never have that.
