Good Morning All;
I have secured employment in Dublin with one of the many IT organizations, been an expat over 20 years and this is our 7th posting. I have worked out a number of the challenges already, experience helps in this regard. However, I am finding little current information on education.
We have 6 children, but only 3 will be moving with us to Dublin, these 3 will be in Elementary and Secondary school. All our previous postings required us our children to attend international schools as English was not the primary language of choice where we have lived previously. That said, can anyone shed light on how schooling works in Ireland?
Are the public schools provided by the government open to Expats?
Do schools have fees and if so are they paid yearly or on a term-by-term basis?
Should we consider international education again or is public education the way to go?
Final thought, even though I am American I have never put my children in American schools, we like the diversity and cross-cultural aspect of international education. So any advice you care to share would be most welcome.
Thank You
Chris
