nursing in ireland / accomodation

Hello there,
I´am planing of moving to Ireland around mid next year. I´am from Austria, working as an registrated nurse in a nursing home. Therefore I would also like to work in an nursing home in Ireland.

I heard the chances of getting work in this branch should not be too difficult in Ireland too. What is your opinion about that, as it is my first time working abroad? I heard that a registration is necessary or foreign people are only allowed to work as health care assistance.

I was wondering if Irish nursing homes also offer accommodation to their employees? The accommodation issue is stuck in my head because I´would like to move to Ireland with my wife and my 1 year old child, so I guess finding accommodations etc… could be difficult for a young family having no references.

In Austria some nursing homes offer accommodations (not only one room, but a small apartment) to there employees. This would make things much easier and I guess even cheaper.

Do you have any experience about that topic?

There are still many, many things I have to sort out and look up about moving, working, living in Ireland. But as time is passing by quick, I´d like to plan thing in advance.

Thank you very much!
