Planning to move to Ireland, need some advice

Hello everyone, I'm planning to make the move from the States to Ireland within the next year or so, and I'm just seeking advice on how to make that happen as smooth as possible. I'm a single adult male, no children, not planning on any of that changing by the time I move. I've done some reading and came across some things that said having Irish ancestry can help with the visa/citizenship process, and I'd like to hear some more information about that because I come from a mostly Irish family. Also curious about how the job market typically is near/in Dublin, specifically something in construction. I'm not planning to reside in Dublin when I first move, but some place not far from it (don't have any specific city in mind.)
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
