Still under cultural shock after 5 years (not Dublin)

Hi everyone,

at this point, i am just looking to connect with other expats, I don't have any particular question.

I live in north Wicklow and find it very difficult for various reasons. I expected people to be a lot friendlier, open, and helpful than they are. I might have been particularly unlucky (I've been threatened, shunned, insulted - never happened to me before in any other country I lived in) and maybe I'm particularly unlucky in Wicklow. IdK.

I also find it hard to make friends. I'm a single woman and everyone seems to be part of a tight-knit family or community.

I would love to connect with some other expats in Ireland, maybe even some in a similar situation.
