Where to reside?

We visited Ireland in Autumn 2018 (my first time back in 50 years!) and in additional to a self-driven tour of the typical places (Dublin, Cavan, Wicklow, Waterford, Kinsale, Killarney, Ennis, Galway), we spent a week in Newcastle, County Down, NI.

We would like to purchase a house, probably in a suburban area near to shopping, etc. and need insight on where to look.

My youngest daughter (also with a path to Irish citizenship), her American husband and their daughter (less than two years old) also plan to relocate, so choosing a community with schools, etc. for their young family is a consideration.
