Hi - wanted to see if anyone had experience exchanging a foreign driving license for an Irish license, for a non-working spouse.
My husband isn’t yet working in Ireland (I am) so doesn’t have a PPSN, but will need to drive. Hence needs to exchange his UK license.
The NDLS states that to apply for a license he needs a PPS Number. But when you apply for a PPS Number using driving license as the reason, you are required to show proof of a submitted driving license application. He can’t provide this as you can’t apply without a PPS. Catch 22!
Has anyone been through this and has any guidance?
Thanks!
