Moving

I "moved" with my car and a couple of bags and books to Ireland 5 months ago and still have everything I own - not much, but still enough to need a van to move it - in England in storage. I am a little bit confused about the proceedings how to "emigrate" and move my personal belongings to Ireland as I don't really want to use a "moving company".
Question 1: I figured out which customs form I have to fill out and send in 2 weeks before moving date, but I don't know how detailed it has to be - do I have to list every single book and every fork I own? I also don't have proof of purchase for anything I own as I bought it years ago.
Question 2: how do I go about unregistering my car in the UK and registering it in Ireland without paying too much because of deadlines and overlapping costs by paying double (insurance, road tax etc.)?
Thank you very much.
