Sustainable Income Requirements for Older Mortgage Borrowers

I am preparing to move from the US to Ireland. I am retired, aged 68, and have applied for a mortgage with Allied Irish Bank (AIB). My income sources are from public pensions (federal, state, and local). AIB is contending that my income sources are not "sustainable".

Has anyone in the community experienced similar pushback when applying for mortgages in Ireland?

I have not seen any mortgage requirements from Central Bank of Ireland, or AIB to support this requirement.

Many thanks for sharing your experiences.
