Bonjourno,
My husband and I reside in Calif...we are considering Italy to live and hopefully work.
He works in the technical field and I volunteer with a non profit mental health organization...we both use our PCs nearly 100 percent of the time for all work related duties. We are open to reconsidering a total change in careers if necessary and if it would provide us with a decent living...we aren't opposed to a living simpler more stress free existence!
Neither of us have jobs that would relocate us...but I am half Italian...my grandparents emigrated to NY. from Italy and I'm told there are family members of both Grandfather and Grandmother still there. (Last names are Sorrentino and Bonacore - I know my Grandfather came from the Naples area).
How do I go about using my heritage as a route to becoming an expatriate? My husband is not Italian...we are in our 40s and all the information I've come across for living in Europe mainly applies to young students. I do not speak Italian ...though from the small amounts spoken by my Aunts, I tend to be able to understand it more.
A side note: Both my husband and I enjoy the arts...I paint and use different mediums and he is a self taught pianist. We love to cook, museums, photography, writing, walking tours, dancing and have spiritual interests.
Your feedback would be invaluable to me!
Grazie,
Muse
