Need 2 BR rental apartment in Rome for a year

My husband and I are moving to Rome September 2007 from the US and are having a very hard time finding an apartment for long term rental. I have searched the internet but mostly find only short term places unless I want to spend 5000 euros a month...
Prati and Monti are our favorite areas but we are open to others. Any suggestions?
