living in italy.

I have just finished college, and i am planning to either go to italy for a year or go to uni and get a degree in english language and go to italy after. Me and my partner are going to stop with a family for two week in vellentri in august.

My partner is currently a teaching assistant and i want to teach english in italy. We are both totally dedicated to moving to italy.

We are trying to learn italian, but its a slow process.

I just wondered if anybody could give me some tips on what we should do and where in italy is a good starting point, and should we take a year out and move to italy for a year?

Whould we be able to get jobs and accomadation?

Thanks.
We both feel we have no contacts in italy so it will very hard to start there.
