Dual taxation, income earned in Italy while residing in the US

I am a dual US-Italian citizen, and I reside in the US. I have inherited a small house in Italy and am considering renting it out. As I understand it, I should pay taxes on this income in either Italy or the US. What's the correct way to do this? I would appreciate hearing from people who are in a similar situation and can share their experiences. Thanks.
