Why Italy?

Hello all. ciao a tutti! I am interested in hearing stories from people on why they moved to Italy. How you decided on Italy, overall. Was it because of the beautiful country, the food, the people, the culture, etc? I have been to Italy 3 times and am going again next month. For me, Italy is like a vibration in my blood. It is a yearning to live there, to mix with the locals, speak the language (which is the most beautiful in the world, in my opinion) and absorb the culture. Granted, I would always be a foreigner, but my heart would be in it. I've been taking Italian lessons for over a year. I am curious about if the people who have moved there are immersed in their commune or if they are more likely to be in an expat community. I doubt if I will ever meet the minimum income requirements to retire there, but I can always go wwoofing for 90 days every year. Grazie per le vostre risposte!
