US chip-and-PIN credit cards to use in Italy

Further to a discussion on this board a few months ago, Bank of America credit cards are now chip-and-PIN enabled. I just arrived in Italy and was able to buy a train ticket from a vending machine, yay! I have the BankAmericard Travel Rewards card, which does not charge a transaction fee. I requested a PIN online, and it was mailed to me.
