Buying a new car

I am going to be driving a lot and have decided to buy a new car when I arrive. I am wondering generally how one arrives at a price in Italy (I'm imagining haggling).
In the US and UK, there are services where one can research the actual paid prices for various models. Has anyone run across such a resource?
