Hi,
My partner is Italian (dual citizenship Britain and Italy) and I am British, and we are thinking of moving to Italy in two years’ time from England, where we are right now.
For now, let’s pretend Brexit does exist because no one has a clue how that’s going to impact anything.
We are thinking Parma or Bologna areas, ideally, and we have two cats to consider when finding somewhere to live.
Questions:
What’s the best way to do it? Do we find someplace to live first and then hope to find jobs (both have significant international experience)? Do we find jobs first and then try to very quickly find a rental that accepts pets while we are finding our feet?
What are the obstacles for someone British finding work there? My Italian is holiday basic, I am enrolling in lessons to get a better grasp of it. Visa/work permit? To rent somewhere do I need to prove I have an Italian job?
So many things to consider, would love advice from anyone who has done this already. Thanks!
