Retiring/Moving to Puglia

My husband and I have been doing a lot of research about moving to the Puglia region. I am having a hard time trying to figure out exactly how much Italy requires our income to be in order to accept us to live there. Some articles have said €40,000 and others say €25,000 yearly. Does anyone have anymore concrete information on this subject? Thank you for your time!
