Genoa: fitness

My wife and I hold dual Italian/US citizenship and plan to move to Italy when things have returned to something approaching normal globally. We are partial to the Genoa area of Liguria and wonder about the accessibility of fitness venues and more specifically swimming (both open water and pool swimming). Fitness is an important part of our lives and when visiting we usually avail ourselves of hotel facilities, which does not reflect the community based options. Any info would be helpful. Also, I have emailed several realty agencies (in Italian, not English) in an effort to establish a relationship with one or some. None have responded. Any suggestions.
