In or close to Firenze

Hi all,

We are a family of 4 moving to Firenze (or close to it) in July 2021.

Our kids will be going to the international school (south of the river) and we are wondering where we should live, we don't like being too close to the tourist hotspots.

We were thinking ‘below the river’ or Fiesole (which we know is approx. 30min by car in the morning traffic.

Where should we position ourselves? Close to school or is Fiesole so much better? Any advice is welcome!

We are wide open to suggestions.

Ps. Security is also an issue because I am overseas a lot, so my wife and kids on their own, which is a small concern for me, although I have been told that not to worry.
