Rental cars in Venice

Hello everybody. I've been on before with different subjects. This time I have a question concerning rental cars. I have done research on all the different rental companies and none of them are good. According to many reviews from others with the experience, the companies try to screw you every which way they can (additional fees for damages that were already logged upon check out, late fees for turn-ins when you are clearly not late, not having the car you signed up for and then charging you more for a different one, etc).
The best of the worst is Sixt. So, that is who we have to rent from. But, that is not our main issue. When I leave, my flight is at 06:30 AM. The airport, in Venice, does not open till 06:00 AM. There isn't any transportation from any Venice hotel to the airport that early in the morning. No shuttles, nothing. And forget taxi's--unreliable. So, other than spending the night in the airport in order to make my flight, are there any alternative suggestions on this situation? Thank you.
