Moving to the north of Italy

I'm female and intend to move to northern Italy in 2023. I'm just starting to learn Italian, so my communication skills will be limited for a while.
I'm interested in Piemonte and Liguria (between Genoa and San Remo), preferably smallish town with public transport. I'm planning a 17-day visit to both areas in July 2022 to get a feel for what resonates in these areas.
Anyone got any experience of both areas they'd like to share?
Any useful websites, groups, etc. in that area you'd recommend?
